Nov. 27th, 2013 (Wed)

Class began today with some Free Play and work with sticky contact paper that the students were able to touch and stick some frosty looking materials too.  We all had a fun dance class too as well.  I'm continually impressed with what the students are capable of when given challenging physical skills to explore.  The class also began the construction of a menorah.  Using paper towel rolls, that were painted and glittered by the students, we will assemble what will represent the candles for the holiday.  We also tried on a turkey hat!  (See Fjola below!)

Nov. 26th, 2012 (Tues)

The class completed a great piece of work today as a group.  The students were given paint and shaving cream and glue to mix and swirl.  When these three components are mixed together, the result is a puffy, foam-like finish.  The experience, as well as the result, is quite fun.  The students were given glitter and sequins and other shimmery details to give the art work a glisten to be reminiscent of the frosty weather that has come our way.

Nov. 25th, 2013 (Mon)

Today we celebrated both Oscar's and Arya's birthdays!  Oscar's mom, Ann-Marie, spent some time reading with us and helping each of us make our own little individual layer cakes, complete with a Danish flag to top off each cake.  Oscar and his family are from Denmark.  Arya's mom, Priscilla, made us an assortment of cupcakes toped with a purple-y pink frosting, which seemed fitting, Arya LOVES the color purple!

Nov. 22nd, 2013 (Fri)

While in the gym this morning the class played with our new flashlights!  Each classroom was given flashlights and sheets to facilitate playing with light and shadow and silhouettes.  We also painted with cars again today, but with a twist:  black paper and white paint.  The class also began another Birthday Portrait.  We'll be celebrating both Arya's and Oscar's birthday on Monday.
